Market research is key in seeing what your consumers want. It helps you find where your brand stands and where there is room for improvement. Have you ever wondered what people considered to be the top luxury brand? The answer to this question was found and it found out to be Gucci. New products may emerge from the findings of the market research, such as designer electronics. This research was descriptive, which most market research is. Like most descriptive research there was a survey conducted. This research was longitudinal since it was collected over time and not all at once. What I found interesting about this research was how each country varied. It was interesting to see what country thought was the most coveted luxury brand. Also I was in shock that Louis Vuitton was not in the top three. The brand had even fallen in surveys from the past. I wonder if Louis Vuitton will come out with anything new to help bring their brand up. The survey also shows that people would be more willing to buy electronics if their favorite luxury brand was on it. So when will the time come when you go to turn on your Gucci television? Brands have already staring going in different directions such as the D&G cell phone that was released some years ago. There will be a time when our luxury brand is just more then handbags and ready-to-wear, and such. They will start to play an even bigger role in our day-to-day lives. I just wonder how they will balance the appeal of being somewhat exclusive while trying to expand their brand and bring it to even more consumers. I expect to see great changes in the years to come with the merge of electronics and luxury brands. It makes since with electronics and luxury brands playing such big roles in our lives. So keep an eye out when there are designer IPods, cell phones, tablets, and flat screen tv’s.
