The poll on cutting taxes was set up very poorly. This question was set up to make the consumer believe that if they answered to expire the tax cuts that their own taxes would be raised. In fact the tax cuts were not for the average middle class American. The tax cuts where for upper class Americans not for middle class Americans in which the poll comes across. Knowing that the average person would say no to end tax cuts they set up the question in their favor. Since no person wants to say no to ending tax cuts and having to pay more taxes and majority of the people wanted the cuts to continue. Making sure that your questions are set up so that people know exactly what they are answering is key when making up questions. If the average American knew that the tax cuts where for the wealthy I highly doubt that they would want them to continue. Also if a scale was used it would get a better idea of how Nevadans feel about tax cuts. Just using a simple yes and no answer people are forced to choose an answer that they may not have strong feelings about in the first place. The question also makes you think that the cats where successful when they were in fact it was not. If feel if the people being polled had more background information on the topic that they would feel different about it.
